Fall 2015 Must Reads
Cozy sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes and the best new books of the year are the reasons why fall is the #1 season in our minds!
This is Yarros’s third novel in her compelling and sexy New Adult series, Flight & Glory. The last thing Samantha and Grayson need are the complications involved with a new romance—but when the chemistry is this hot, how can they deny it?
It’s not quite Harry Potter but we must read anything by the always amazing J.K. Rowling (aka Robert Galbraith)—and this mystery series starring private detective Cormoran Strike and his assistant Robin Ellacott consistently hits the mark. In this third novel in the series, a package containing a woman’s severed leg leads Ellacott and Strike on a manhunt for a depraved criminal who knows no boundaries.
Though Shelf Pleasure’s L.A. office wishes that Crais’s private eyes Elvis Cole and Joe Pike were really out keeping the streets of Los Angeles safe, they’ll settle for a new crime thriller featuring the duo. As an added bonus, Cole and Pike are joined by Suspect heroes Scott James and his K-9 partner Maggie. We can’t wait to see what twists and turns the #1 bestselling Crais has in store this time!
Harry Bosch teams up with Lincoln Lawyer Mickey Haller—what other reason do you need to get reading?!
Karen is newly divorced, and finally happy, working as a teacher and living with her two kids. The Bermans are her unhappily married neighbors who refuse to separate because of their children. But for Mark Berman, the now single Karen is a temptation that is slowly turning into an obsession. And Mark isn’t the only one on the block hiding secrets. Jason Starr’s novel is a dark look at the other side of suburban life.
We absolutely loved Moyes’s Me Before You (the movie version starring Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin is due out next year!) and were thrilled to learn that Moyes wrote a sequel. This time the story focuses on Louisa Clark as she tries to move on after (Spoiler Alert) the death of Will Traynor. Back home and in a support group, Louisa meets Sam, the one man who just may understand how she feels. But when a figure from the past appears, it will change all of Louisa’s future plans.
We can’t say we’ve ever done this before, but we can easily understand the temptation. Izzy Lane isn’t quite over her marriage—even after the divorce papers are officially signed. But a move back home, her young son, and her best friends all help her keep it together. When her ex-husband announces he has a new girlfriend, before she can stop herself Izzy claims to be in a relationship as well. All she has to do is create a boyfriend! What can possibly go wrong?
Yes, Kinsella’s lighthearted Shohaholic series is a tad on the silly side but we can’t help but fall in love with Becky Bloomwood as the well-intentioned heroine tries to pull herself out of one mess after another. With Becky on a rescue mission that entails a road trip to Las Vegas we can only imagine the kind of chaos that will ensue! We can always count on this series to make us smile.
