New Releases 4.4.16
Even if you’re not on spring break, you’ll want to make time for these new reads releasing today.
Taking place in 1948 Australia, this beautifully written story follows four individuals who must find a way forward when the world they know is irrevocably changed. A tragic accident leaves Anikka a postwar widow and single mom. Roy is now a poet with no words. And Dr. Frank Draper struggles with the guilt that he could not save concentration camp survivors. Even far from battle, the scars of war are still raw and bleeding.
This charming, witty tale of two sisters living two very different lives is right up our alley. Sid is an expat living it up in Singapore while her sister Cassie is a typical stressed out wife and mom in Manhattan. Social media averse Sid convinces Cassie to keep in touch the old school way—through handwritten letters. Much to their surprise, they find themselves enjoying this experiment. Even better, the letters end up serving a larger purpose, helping the sisters’ sort out their feelings and what they want out of life. But when Cassie attempts to save all the letters on her computer, how do they end up going viral?
Harvey and Shelf Pleasure go way back. She visited us last year to show off her beautiful writing room (seriously, check out the inspiring before-and-after pics here) and we loved her debut Dear Carolina. Now we can’t wait to read her latest novel. Annabelle is a model daughter and granddaughter. Until she dumps her stable fiancé for a musician she barely knows. After all, her grandparents also fell in love at first sight and then went on to live an amazing life together. But when her own marriage starts to fall apart, Annabelle is shaken to discover that perhaps nothing is as perfect as she believed.
