Julie Shackman’s Current Reads
Julie Shackman, author of the debut contemporary romance Rock My World, shares the books waiting on her nightstand.
Tucked into my bedside cupboard, are several fantastic books!
Currently, I’m reading Gifted & Talented by Wendy Holden. It’s all about the lives and loves of the students and staff at a prestigious, fictional English University and is just beautifully written.
In my “To Be Read” pile, I’ve got The Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan. I’ve read all of her novels and find her writing funny and touching. Sitting next to it, is Katie Fforde’s A French Affair. I think her writing is always warm and sunny and I love the gorgeous artwork on her covers.
I still have to read Kiss Me First by Lottie Moggach, a thriller based around social media which sounds like an exciting premise.
And finally, I’ve still to delve into Sophie Kinsella’s Wedding Night, which I’m very much looking forward to. If it’s anything like two of my favourite novels of hers, Twenties Girl and I’ve Got Your Number, then I’m in for a treat!
So lots of fantastic novels to look forward to at bedtime.
Sweet dreams everyone!
Julie Shackman trained as a journalist but writing romance has always been a dream of hers. When she’s not lost inside a book or drafting one, she write verses and captions for greeting card companies. Writing at home seems to be incredibly difficult for Julie. She usually requires coffee, music and noise. Rock My World is her first contemporary romance novel. She has just finished writing her second novel and am polishing that at the moment whilst beginning to do some research for her third. She is married, has two sons and lives in Scotland. Follow her on Twitter, like her on Facebook, or read her blog at http://julieshackman.wordpress.com/.
