Robert Crais comes between author Gregg Hurwitz and his Dog…Sort of
When we saw this picture from Gregg Hurwitz on Twitter, we knew we had to share it with our readers. One of our favorite thriller writers reading another one of our favorites, with a beautiful dog? It’s a Shelf Pleasure dream come true. Here’s what Gregg had to say about this pic:
“My dog likes Robert Crais as much as I do, and we all go out for the occasional hike. So Simba was elated to learn of German Shepherd patrol dog Maggie’s starring turn in Suspect, and he dug in as soon as the advanced reading copy arrived. We only had one copy and had to battle over it and, well, he won. It wasn’t a fair fight – the damn dog is bred to be a lion hunter after all. But his reading pace sucks (ridgebacks being traditionally slow readers), so I had to wait, but finally I got the thing back and it kept me awake till the breathless finish. Great characters, great book, and my favorite opening chapter in years.”
We can’t wait to dive into our own copy of Suspect, and if you haven’t had a chance to read Gregg Hurwitz’s thrillers yet you’re missing out. The Survivor kept us glued to the couch when it was released last year, and we still can’t stop thinking about Trust No One, which we read a few years ago.
We’re always looking for photos of authors and readers to feature on Shelf Pleasure! We’re also looking for pics of books alone in a fun or interesting setting. So whether you have a pic of a book hanging out on a beach towel or of yourself reading under the Eiffel Tower or at an author event share it with us!
