Week 2 – Shelf Pleasure’s 2016 Reading Challenge
It’s week 2 of our 52 books in 2016 reading challenge! Whether you’ve already read 3 books or are just joining us now, we’re thrilled to have you! You can familiarize yourself with how the challenge works here.
We’ve chosen Jacqueline Sheehan’s The Center of the World as our
second novel of 2016. Sheehan was already one of our favorite writers before she stopped by Shelf Pleasure to share how she quit her job to follow her writing dream. Her novel Lost & Found is one we still find pleasure reading again and again, about a young widow who comes back to life with the help of one delightful dog. There are no dogs (so far) in Sheehan’s beautiful new novel, but we’re already hooked on the story of a mom whose lies to her adopted daughter unravel. As they travel back to her true birthplace, they discover the truth might be the key to bringing them back together.
What’s your book #2? Don’t forget to share your progress in the
comments or on our Facebook page…and keep tuning in as we share our progress and keep you motivated to read throughout the year!
