Week 40 – Shelf Pleasure’s 2016 Reading Challenge
This weekend we devoured Elle Kennedy’s The Goal, the 4th book in her New Adult romance series featuring a college hockey team. This title takes a more serious turn as college senior Sabrina James finds herself in a position she never thought she’d be in. Sabrina has her whole future planned out, including kicking butt at Harvard Law School and landing a high-paying job at a big legal firm. Her path to escaping her somewhat trashy past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player.
John Tucker is a true Southern gentleman who believes in love at first sight. An unplanned pregnancy veers them both into unexpected territory. Sabrina is hard to warm up to, and we have a little trouble understanding Tucker’s interest, but we adore him so much we don’t mind. Kennedy certainly brings her signature heat to this one–and it can be read as part of the series or as a stand alone.
