Week 47 – Shelf Pleasure 2016 Reading Challenge
We love Jennifer Weiner. Between Good in Bed, her addictive Bachelor live tweets, and her fierce defense of women writers, she can do no wrong in our eyes. Her memoir, Hungry Heart: Adventures in Life, Love, and Writing, continues that tradition. In Weiner’s typical, honest, no subject off-limits style she covers everything from her lonely bookworm childhood (and oh, how we could relate!), to her parents divorce and her mother’s newfound lesbianism, to her own love life and her adventures in writing and publishing. Her story on finally bringing Good in Bed to bookshelves should be required reading for every newbie writer. Even if you don’t love Weiner’s fiction, this is a magical memoir up there with Mindy Kaling’s and Amy Poehler’s.
