Where Colby Marshall Writes
As a writer, it’s important to carve out your own special space where you can be alone with your characters, concentrate on them, and figure out where they need to go. Since I write thrillers filled with action, twists, and occasional insanity, it only makes sense that I write in the middle of my living room.
Yep, it’s true. With a two-year-old and one-year-old, four cats, and an overly energetic beagle to create ambience, it’s somehow the perfect place for me. But be warned—it is not for the faint of heart!
My space in the morning:
Note the red chair. Typically, everyone who comes in this house knows that the red chair is only fair game if I’m not in the room. It’s just how it is, since I don’t technically have set hours I work each day—my day is all about piecing together stolen minutes to combine into a full work day. I think my second picture will better explain this.
My space by the end of the day:
